Lawn & Landscaping Standards

Lawn & Landscaping Standards— The Board adopted the following set of standards for lawn care and landscaping in 2016.

“Lawns shall consist mainly of turf type grasses (fescue, bluegrass or zoysia). Trimming of lawn edges shall be completed as part of maintenance including weeding of lawns and landscape beds.”

We encourage the following actions to keep your lawn neat and attractive:

1) Regular mowing and trimming of your lawn.

2) A weed prevention program, as well as fertilization.

3) Frequent removal of weeds from landscaping beds.

4) Refreshed mulch.

5)
Trimming of shrubs/landscaping annually.

Fall is the best time to aerate and overseed your lawn to bring back thicker, healthier grass in the Spring. Additionally, a pre-emergent weed control is recommended in the fall to help prevent weeds from returning in the Spring.

Tree & Shrub Requirements:

The Architectural Control Committee’s vegetation/landscaping requirements are two trees (each 2” in caliper), and six shrubs (each 3 gallons in size). Furthermore, the Covenants state that “all vegetation/trees originally placed on the land at any time must be maintained in good condition and, in the event of death or destruction of the same, such shall be replaced or repaired as soon as practical with vegetation/trees of similar size and quality.”  We encourage you to evaluate your landscaping each Spring and Fall to be sure it conforms with the standards of our community.
